健康幼稚園火燒車事件,到今年剛滿10週年,最近中午時間電視台密集播出,協尋當年倖免於難的幼稚園小朋友,並且訪問當年捨身救小朋友而遇難的林靖娟老師媽媽,談到個人將對靖娟的小愛,成立了基金會,用來監督幼兒安全,現在成為生命的動力泉源,而電視台影片背後音樂就是採用tears in heaven,這背後原來也有一段傷痛

Eric Clapton在西洋樂壇以及他自彈自唱的高度技巧聞名,唱片界稱他 "吉他之神"，他年過50才得一子康諾( Conor )，自然寵愛萬分,但在一九九一年一次意外中， 愛子竟從紐約53層高的公寓住家意外摔下身亡，那年康諾才4歲,Eric相當自責,因為那時的他,生活上並不檢點,並染毒品，內心極度思念這位表現很棒的好兒子,整整有近1年的時間,拒絕參加聚會,演唱,隔年1992才發表這首歌曲

後來，艾瑞克萊普頓參與電影「Rush」（台灣並未公映）配樂的編寫，在他的堅持下，這首歌出現在電影中，並成為他有史以來最暢銷的單曲，曾在告示牌雜誌的百大單曲榜上連續四週高掛亞軍，售出數百萬張。兒子去世一年後，艾瑞克萊普頓應MTV頻道之邀，舉辦不插電演唱會，演唱了這首曲子，真情流露思子之心，感動了在場及電視機前的所有歌迷。因為這首歌，這場演唱會的實況錄音於一九九二年八月發行成專輯後，在告示牌專輯榜上留連了超過兩年，全球共售出一千萬張。
