我不知道丘逢甲是否來到雞籠瑞芳一帶，瑞芳街上倒是有一條’逢甲路’
詩中已經證實在清末瑞芳一帶的基隆河發現黃金後、逐漸吸引各地的漢人到大粗坑、侯洞、九份、金瓜石礦區來採金。有的更是漂洋過海跨過黑水溝後、直達這個無言的山丘、帶著一顆尋金致富或者至少可以養家活口的心，開始胼手胝足在山區中以最原始的方式開挖礦坑、這些礦坑附近也逐漸形成小山城。
當然有人確實富了起來、為了表示還願、大方地出錢整修土地公廟，但也有更多人壯志未酬身先死、淪為客死他鄉的孤魂。「世間若無憨 路邊哪有有應公」

因此，這一帶可以說是全台灣有應公廟密度最高的地方、光是九份大略就有十座以上。其中位於九份大竿林巷弄內有一小間嵌於石壁上的有應公廟，上面的對聯寫著 [前是名利客，今為夢中人],短短十個字，沒有舞文弄墨，卻直扣人心弦
隨著金礦枯竭、礦場關閉之後，怎麼來的就怎麼去，經過數十載繁華的礦區聚得快散得也快，大粗坑早已廢村人去樓空，九分、金瓜石、侯洞也只剩下觀光過客，末代老礦工們早已改行或以凋零，想窺探昔日景況就到金礦博物館緬懷一下吧！
