葉慈Salley Garden

詩歌的原作者是William Butler Yeats (葉慈,1865-1939, 愛爾蘭劇作家、詩人, 獲1923年諾貝爾文學獎) 。很多人喜歡葉慈，不只是因為他的詩歌，也因為是他一直以做愛爾蘭人而自豪的人,在葉慈活著的一生中,愛爾蘭一直仍被英國統治,直到戰間期才獨立。



莎莉花園 (Salley　Garden)
Down by the salley gardens my love and I did meet;
在莎莉花園深處，我的愛與我曾相遇。

She passed the salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
她以雪白小脚，穿越莎莉花園。

She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
她叮嚀我要愛得淌然，似新葉在枝樹萌芽。

But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.
但我當時年少無知，不予輕率苟同。

In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
在河邊的田野，我的愛與我曾駐足。

And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white hand.
她以雪白小手，依靠在我的肩膀。

She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
她叮嚀我要活得淌然，似青草在堤岸滋長。

But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.
